About Us
My name is Glen Evans and I speak, train, and write about personal security, safety and self defense. I have grown very tired of bad people hurting children, women being raped, killed and thrown away, and families being tormented by evil people who don’t give a rip about them, society or anyone else.
My experience has been real life, where I have had the pleasure of protecting people through a career in law enforcement. I have used many of these weapons: pepper spray, taser, expandable baton, and empty hand tactics to defend myself against those who want to harm me.
I have had to draw my firearm numerous times to protect myself from deadly force threats, and I have served on a SWAT team for about ten years. I have been training law enforcement for about ten years on how to defend themselves from criminal attack.
About five years ago, I developed and began teaching a class called ASSERT Personal Safety. The class was designed for kids to learn how to protect themselves from child predators, pedophiles, and their ilk through defensive measures. When moms learned how to protect their children, they became very excited about self defense and wanted to learn how protect themselves as well. I then began teaching adult women and teen aged girls how to protect themselves against rape, assault, and anything else that may come down the pike.
I know what its like to be attacked, and I know what it takes to stop someone from carrying on an attack - PAIN. Plain and simple pain. Bad people don’t like pain anymore than you do, so when they experience it, they do whatever they can do to stop it from happening again. They won’t pick you if you know what signals to send to them. This is what Basic Security Gear is about - not living in fear, but realizing you can defend yourself and protect your family from bad people. Whether you are a parent, spouse, child, woman, man - it doesn’t matter, you can defend yourself if you know what to do.
It was with this idea that I began this website. Self defense and security products are pretty inexpensive in comparison to what hospital bills, lost time from work, emotional pain, and funerals cost, so having something like a self defense product handy is a good idea.
